about

Ten years ago, The Imaginary Suitcase released "Here's To Those We Could Not Save", the first album. I wanted to do something special for this anniversary, but the nostalgia trip down the memory lane seemed formulaic and lazy to me.

Then I thought of all the people that these ten years of travels, discoveries and performing have allowed me to meet, all these wonderful musicians, some of whom have become friends, and I said to myself "bon sang mais c'est bien sûr!". And so throughout 2022, I took my Tascam under my arm and went to see Martin, Cécile, Laurence, Carla & Margaux to revisit some classics from my repertoire.

I wish I had the time and opportunity to include more friends on this project, but they need not worry. I'll see them for the 20th anniversary special! ;-)

This album is therefore simultaneously a balance sheet, an ode to friendship, the end of a chapter, an autobiography, a closure, a look in the rear view mirror, a thank you note, a Dear John letter and a bridge to The Imaginary Suitcase's future.
